But when Tobin takes a sample \r\nsource he is never happy until he has warped, filtered and fucked with \r\nit until it sounds like something straight from his head. And not just \r\nanywhere in his head, but that dingy, cobwebbed corner where no one \r\nshould go…\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\"Chronic Tronic\" sounds like martial music for giants, \r\nlistening to \"Searchers\" you’re gripped by a terrible sense of \r\nforeboding. \"Back From Space\" and the intro to \"Hey Blondie\" have a \r\ngenuine alien sense of wonder about them. Meanwhile, the beats, as \r\nexemplified on \"Triple Science\", sound like an entire bloco band having a\r\n bad trip in the dirt under your fingernail. And as for \"El \r\nWraith\"...well, let’s not even go there…\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eIn fact, this remains the\r\n most straight-up nasty album that Tobin has made – music with the power\r\n to genuinely disturb.
