'We wanted to have a big, big band, but not one playing big band jazz,' as Lars Horntveth once put it. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eComparisons reached for by the press at the time were as broad - from Talk Talk, Soft Machine, Eric Satie, John Coltrane and Don Cherry to acts like Aphex Twin, Stereolab, Squarepusher and Tortoise. This range summed up the breadth and originality of the group's sound.
