In both arenas they are known as a brooding sonic force. With a move over to Ninja Tune plus the release of 2013's lauded \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/ninjatune.net\/release\/king-midas-sound\/aroo\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eAroo\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e single and in particular its b-side \"\u003cstrong\u003eFunny Love\u003c\/strong\u003e” an even deeper sense of spaciousness began to set in. That track’s dramatic tonal shift acted as a catalyst for the idea of a conceptual collaborative project to be born. Hence this first edition (in a series of four), appropriately titled \u003cem\u003eEdition 1.\r\n\r\n\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLooking even further back it does seems fitting that the person (\u003cstrong\u003eKevin Martin\u003c\/strong\u003e) who once curated a compilation called \u003cem\u003eIsolationism\u003c\/em\u003e is one of the key contributors behind this truly mesmeric examination of melancholy and desolation, \u003cem\u003eEdition 1\u003c\/em\u003e features collaborator number one, Austrian guitarist \/ electronic musician \u003cstrong\u003eFennesz\u003c\/strong\u003e. His 2001 album \u003cstrong\u003eEndless Summer\u003c\/strong\u003e was a swirling mix of electric tonal guitars and sweeping emotional shifts which inspired and sparked an admiration within \u003cstrong\u003eKevin\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eRoger\u003c\/strong\u003e to bring him onboard. Utilizing improvised guitar tracks, samples, and unreleased material from \u003cstrong\u003eFennesz's\u003c\/strong\u003e archive, \u003cem\u003eEdition 1\u003c\/em\u003e took shape within the \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/ninjatune.net\/artist\/king-midas-sound#.Vb9t5MZViko\"\u003eKMS\u003c\/a\u003e framework. In the wake of Kevin's last \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/ninjatune.net\/artist\/the-bug\"\u003eBug\u003c\/a\u003e album \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/ninjatune.net\/release\/the-bug\/angels-and-devils\"\u003e\u003cem\u003eAngels \u0026amp; Devils\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e, he wanted to create a record focused on kaleidoscopic sonic beauty, bathed in the bluest emotional lyricism.
